CONVERSE, SC – BASF’s site in Converse, South Carolina donated 2,016 bottles of water (84 cases) to Texans impacted by recent weather events. A week of freezing temperatures in late February interrupted water supply and left some in Texas without access to water in their homes and others under a boil advisory.
The bottles of water were donated to Under the Bridge Ministries in Fort Worth, which endeavors to serve community members in need.
BASF Logistics Team Lead Sterling Miller hatched the plan to donate the water bottles, which the Site Leadership Team wholeheartedly supported.
“We are proud that our employees like Sterling share the same vision for helping others that BASF promotes within our organization, and we are grateful to carrier Kata Converters for volunteering to transport the donation to Texas,” Converse Site Manager Jerome Kirkland said. “We look for ways to give back to our local community regularly, and in this instance, we knew we needed to step up and help others in our broader region. We hope this donation provides comfort to families in Texas, knowing that support is coming all the way from South Carolina.”
