BASF donates to Safe Harbor, Collins Children’s Home

December 19, 2022

BASF’s site in Seneca is supporting the local community this holiday season through donations to two local non-profit organizations. Employees contributed more than $1,300 to Safe Harbor along with 50 children’s toys, clothes, personal care items and multiple online direct donations to the organization through Amazon and Walmart. Safe Harbor is a non-profit organization which supports victims of domestic violence in the Upstate area.

“Supporting families who rely on Safe Harbor for the holidays is something very special for us here at the Seneca site,” said Julia Tintle, Operations Engineer at BASF, who helped organize the donation in her role as chair of Women in BASF, one of the site’s Employee Resource Groups. “We continually strive to give back to our neighbors in the Upstate and knowing that we are helping families have a happier holiday season is incredibly rewarding.”

BASF has contributed to Safe Harbor in various ways for more than 10 years. Two BASF employees (who are now retired) were instrumental in working with the organization to bring a domestic violence shelter to Oconee County, and it opened in 2014. The Seneca Women in BASF chapter, previously Women in Business, has sponsored the site holiday giving to Safe Harbor since 2017.

BASF also donated more than $1,000 to Collins Children’s Home, an organization that supports children and families in need through residential home care, counseling and family outreach.

BASF is a member of the Keowee Key Community Partnership.
