BASF in Converse seeking applicants for “earn and learn” program

March 30, 2023

BASF in Converse is seeking applications for production technician apprentices and mechanical maintenance apprentices, which pay $17.00 an hour with quarterly increases to $19.00 an hour within a year. These roles are part of the 12-month North American Apprentice Development Program (NAADP), which aims to meet future talent needs for a skilled and diverse workforce.

BASF offers apprentices full medical, dental and vision benefits, paid vacation, and covers the cost of tuition, books and fees associated with the program. After completion of the program, apprentices are eligible for permanent positions at BASF.

Apprentices participate in on-the-job training while earning a certificate in Process Control Technology from Spartanburg Community College. As part of SCC’s Center for Advanced Manufacturing & Industrial Technologies, the program provides students extensive hands-on training in lab environments, allowing them to continuously practice concepts learned in the classroom.

“We are looking for motivated individuals who may be exploring career opportunities – either looking to launch their career or change careers altogether,” said BASF Converse Site Manager Jerome Kirkland. “Our team comes from many different backgrounds, and we offer a safe, inclusive and supportive team environment.”

The NAADP is made possible through support from Ready SC, the South Carolina Technical College System and the State of South Carolina.

Learn more and about the program and apply by April 4 at www.basf.us/apprentice.
