BASF sponsors Clemson University’s Solid Green Day

December 19, 2022

BASF’s site in Seneca sponsored Clemson University’s Solid Green Day, an event which promotes sustainability efforts across the campus. The event included a campus-wide litter pickup and showcase of sustainable groups across campus. BASF was on site to share about the company’s sustainability efforts.

BASF’s site in Seneca recycles precious metal catalysts, which enables the circular economy since recycling metal emits as much as 90% less CO2 than refining primary metal from a mine.

The precious metals BASF refines, including platinum, palladium and rhodium are then used in many applications by people around the world. Catalysts recycled by BASF are used in cell phones, computers, televisions, drinking water purification, fragrances, medical devices that allow patients to live longer, healthier lives and more.

This is the third year BASF’s site in Seneca has sponsored Solid Green Day in partnership with Clemson University.
