Bean hired to manage communication efforts at South Carolina School Boards Association

The South Carolina School Boards Association announces the hire of Rebecca “Becky” J. Bean as Communications Manager.

“Becky “brings experience and a proven track record of success in the school public relations field to the association. She will be oversee efforts to market the association services and resources to school board members and market the importance of school boards to the public,” said Debbie Elmore of SCSBA.

Bean will begin her new duties January 1 at SCSBA. She has worked for the past three years in Lexington County School District One as Director of Communications.

She has previous experience as Director of Marketing and Public Relations with the University of South Carolina Sumter, Growth and Development Specialist with the City of Sumter, Public Information Coordinator with the South Carolina Forestry Commission and Public Relations Graphic Designer with the Richland County Library.

Bean received a bachelor’s degree with a concentration in graphic design and business from Anderson University. While attending college, Bean interned as a design intern at Greenfield Belser Ltd in Washington, D.C.

She is a member of the National School Public Relations Association and the South Carolina Association of School Administrators. She serves as the Midlands Area Board Member for the South Carolina chapter of the National School Public Relations Association (SC/NSPRA.)

Bean resides in Camden with her husband, Ryan, and son, Bradley.
