February 14, 2025When the weather is dreary, the kids are out of school, and the cabin fever kicks in, there’s no better place to bring the family than EdVenture! This February, EdVenture is buzzing with hands-on activities, exciting performances, and opportunities for kids to be curious through hands-on exploration—all while staying warm and busy indoors. Whether you’re crafting Valentines, celebrating Black History, exploring the wonders of health, or getting a sneak peek at summer camp fun, there’s something for every young explorer this month at EdVenture.

❤️ Valentine’s Day Fun!
– Valentine-Making Station in the A-ha! Maker Space
– Kids can also identify acts of kindness they can do for loved ones
🦷 Take Heart & Smile: Celebrate Healthy Hearts & Happy Smiles!
– Saturday, Feb. 15 – A jam-packed day of fun and learning about heart and dental health!
– USC College of Pharmacy Students Visit for hands-on learning in the Bio Lab. Learn about compounding medicine that keeps our hearts and bodies healthy.
– Marionette Theater Performance: “Flora and Floppy Visit the Dentist”
2:00 p.m. | FREE with admission – A must-see for any child nervous about the dentist!
– Saturday, Feb. 22 | 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. – The Colgate Van is stopping by EdVenture! Kids 12 and under can receive a FREE dental screening from the SC Dental Association.
🖤 Celebrate Black History All Month Long!
– Daily Lab Programming: Hands-on learning inspired by Black trailblazers
• Cooking Lab – Frederick McKinley Jones (refrigerated transportation)
• Bio Lab – Alma Levant Hayden (famous chemist)
• Maker Space – Jean-Michel Basquiat (renowned artist)
• Tinker Tech – Gladys West (mathematician behind GPS technology)
• Toddler Time – Maya Angelou’s inspiring poetry
– Feb. 17 – 21: National Engineering Week with special guests from USC’s National Society of Black Engineers will be leading hands-on experiments for kids of all ages!
