BEHKO Construction selected to deliver a major tenant improvement project for Whirlpool Corporation in Savannah
June 1, 2026BEHKO Construction, a Charleston-based design-build and construction management firm led by Managing Owners Jordan Behringer, P.E., and Razvan “Raz” Cojocaru, P.E., announced it has been selected to deliver a major tenant improvement project in Savannah, Georgia.
The project involves the buildout of new office, training, maintenance, shipping and receiving, and employee support facilities within the 1.1 million-square-foot CPLC Building 1 (Bigfish Warehouse), one of the region’s premier industrial assets. Additional scope includes an equipment wash area, battery charging stations, security fencing, and supporting electrical infrastructure to meet the tenant’s operational requirements.
Whirlpool Corporation will utilize the facility to support its warehousing and distribution operations throughout the region.
How BEHKO Was Selected
Capital Development Partners (CDP), the property owner, recommended BEHKO as a preferred contractor. BEHKO then competed through a rigorous multi-round bid process managed by CBRE on behalf of Whirlpool Corporation, earning the award on the strength of the firm’s integrated design-build approach, technical capabilities, and track record delivering complex industrial projects across South Carolina and Georgia.
“Winning a competitive process with a client like Whirlpool doesn’t happen by accident. It happens because of the preparation, the rigor, and the relationships our team has invested in. We’re grateful to CDP for the confidence they showed in us, and to CBRE and Whirlpool for the opportunity to demonstrate what BEHKO brings to a project of this scale,” said Jordan Behringer, P.E., Managing Owner, BEHKO Construction.
Project Scope
BEHKO will provide design-build and construction management services for the full tenant improvement scope, which includes:
- Office space and open work areas
• Training room
• Maintenance room and dedicated maintenance office
• Shipping and receiving office
• Employee break room and locker area
• Equipment wash area
• Battery charging stations for all warehouse equipment
