Belk Celebrates Opening of New Mount Pleasant Store with Preview Party Benefiting Lowcountry AIDS Services

September 8, 2014

CHARLESTON, SC– Belk is ushering in a new era of shopping at its renovated flagship store in Mount Pleasant with a preview party benefiting Lowcountry AIDS Services. Celebrate the arrival of high-end designers, an upgraded cosmetics bar and an expanded housewares selection at a sneak peek event 5-8 p.m. Sunday Oct. 12 at Belk in Mount Pleasant Towne Centre.

Guests can enjoy drinks, hors d’oeuvres and sweets while browsing the renovated store, which is about three times the size of the original store. Plus stop by the cosmetics counter for mini-manicures and makeovers or gather at the fashion photo booth for a Q&A with local stylists while enjoying special savings.

A $20 donation at the door allows individuals to experience special savings throughout the store, including a unique raffle table benefiting Lowcountry AIDS Services.

“Giving back to our communities is one of our key values at Belk, and we’ve been a proud supporter of Lowcountry AIDS for many years,” said Susan McWatters, regional vice president. “The preview party at our flagship Belk gives us a chance to raise awareness of and money for a great organization.”

Belk is a long-time supporter of Lowcountry AIDS Services, the only organization in the greater Charleston area whose sole purpose is enhancing the quality of life for men, women and children living with HIV/AIDS. Lowcountry AIDS Services offers everything from prevention education and awareness to linking HIV-positive individuals into medical care, helping to secure stable housing, obtain legal assistance, and an array of other supportive services.

“We’ve been fortunate to have Belk’s ongoing support and appreciate their commitment to our work here in the community,” said Bradley Childs, executive director of Lowcountry AIDS Services. “We’re thrilled to celebrate with them as they open this new store and grow their brand here in the Charleston market.”
