Belton welcomes HomTex weaving division

November 30, 2015

On Monday, November 30, officials from Anderson County and the City of Belton hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony to welcome HomTex, Incorporated’s weaving division to their new 300,000-square-foot home, located at 500 Guthrie Road, Belton, South Carolina (formerly Loom Craft).

Headquartered in Vinemont, Alabama, HomTex recently acquired textile manufacturer, Loom Craft, Inc. The company is investing $2 million, adding forty-nine new jobs and retaining the existing 45 Loom Craft employees.

“In 1987, we were making our first sheets, cut and sewn by family members into many late nights,” said HomTex CEO Jerry Wootten.  “Over the last 25 years, we have grown exponentially to become a leading innovator in the global textiles industry. While we are still family-owned and maintain our corporate headquarters in our hometown of Vinemont, Alabama, we now also have domestic production and distribution facilities in North Carolina, Tennessee, and South Carolina as well as fully-staffed offices overseas in both China and India.”

“Belton’s history is intricately woven together with the textile industry,” said Councilman Mitchell Cole. “For more than a century, Belton Mills, which most of us remember as Blair Mills, boosted our local economy. Today, we are proud to witness Belton once again taking her place in the textile industry and having the opportunity to work alongside HomTex, Inc. toward a bright future for both this company and our community,”

HomTex manufactures and distributes DreamFit, Dream Living, and other company-owned brands as well as private-branded products through the home textiles, hospitality, apparel and automotive industries. Products include bed pillows, mattress pads, top-of-bed collections, throws, blankets and towels.
