Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester Council of Governments (BCDCOG) hosting second round of public open houses for rural Transportation Plan update

Public input is invited to identify and address rural highway, transit, bike, and pedestrian needs.

The Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester Council of Governments (BCDCOG) is updating the Long-Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) for the region’s rural areas and is seeking community input at upcoming public open houses.

The information gathered from the public will be used to develop LRTP project priorities for funding over the next twenty years. The public’s participation and input are encouraged by attending one or more of the upcoming open houses and/or by completing the survey at: bcdcog.com/rlrtp2040.

  • January 27, 2025, 5:30 – 7:30 PM, McClellanville Town Hall, 405 Pinckney St, McClellanville SC 29458
  • January 28, 2025, 5:30 – 7:30 PM, St George Rosenwald School, 205 Ann St, George SC 29477
  • January 29, 2025, 5:30 – 7:30 PM, Cross Community Center, 1690 Old Highway 6, Cross SC 29436
  • February 4, 2025, St. Paul’s Hollywood Library, 5130 SC-165, Hollywood SC 29449

The Rural Long-Range Transportation Plan is a multimodal plan that will set priorities for spending federal funds on transportation projects in the region, over the next 20 years. These projects include improvements to highways, roads, bridges, transit facilities and services, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, and related enhancements.
