Berkeley County Schools’ Stuff the Bus campaign

MONCKS CORNER, SC – Berkeley County School District is inviting everyone to “get on the bus” to support education in Berkeley County by participating and donating to the District’s annual Stuff the Bus campaign. The goal of the campaign is to collect school supplies for Berkeley County families in need and to replenish diminished supplies at the school level.
The District is asking community members to donate supplies to help provide students with the necessary tools and resources for learning.
To begin the campaign, the District will host the Stuff the Bus Golf Tournament at Berkeley Country Club, 772 Exeter Plantation Road, Moncks Corner, beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, June 19, 2015. The cost is $50 per player and $200 per team of four. Mulligans are just $5. In addition to a fun-filled day of golf, participants will have the opportunity to win raffle prizes.
The second Stuff the Bus event is Shaggin’ Under the Stars, which will be at Old Santee Canal Park on Thursday, July 16, 2015 beginning at 6:30 p.m. There is a $5 admission fee or you can bring school supplies instead of paying the admission fee. Custom 4 will provide musical selections and everyone is encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnic dinners.
The campaign will conclude with Stuff the Bus Rally Day on Saturday, August 1, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Goose Creek and Moncks Corner Wal-Mart locations.
With the Stuff the Bus Berkeley campaign, there are a number of ways to help:
- Participate in the Stuff the Bus Golf Tournament on Friday, June 19, 2015 at 9:30 a.m.
- Attend Stuff the Bus ‘Shaggin’ Under the Stars’ on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at 6:30 p.m.
- Individuals can purchase supplies at Wal-Mart on Saturday, August 1, 2015, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and give them to a Berkeley County School District representative outside of the store
- Individuals or organizations can donate supplies to the campaign
