Berkeley County’s HOME Program seeking applications for funding

Grant Assistance for Developers Constructing Affordable Housing Projects

Berkeley County is now taking applications for its new Homeownership Development Program.

Developers interested in applying for funding for affordable housing construction projects throughout the county may seek an application by emailing Berkeley County HOME Program Specialist Sandra Osborne at Sandra.Osborne@berkeleycountysc.gov or stop by the Grants Department at the Berkeley County Administration Building, located at 1003 Highway 52 in Moncks Corner, to pick up a paper copy of the application.

To receive grant funding, applicants must meet certain guidelines listed HERE. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. on February 28.

The Homeownership Development Program is part of the County’s new Home Investment Partnerships (HOME) Program and is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

This is the first year Berkeley County has offered HOME funding. The County held an informational workshop on the program in July 2024 and is set receive the grant money from HUD annually going forward.
