Beth Richardson releases guide to help attorneys practice before the Fourth Circuit

Beth Burke Richardson, a member of Robinson Gray law firm, has released a new book that will help attorneys navigate practicing before the Fourth Circuit federal appeals court.

She and another attorney, Tom Vanderbloemen, are co-editors of Practicing before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit: A Guide from Start to Finish. It is written by the two editors, plus a dozen other authors, including her fellow Robinson Gray Member Bobby Stepp. Copies are available through the South Carolina Bar CLE website, https://cle.scbar.org/Book-Store/Info/productcd/790.

As Beth says in a Bar video on LinkedIn, the book “will help you through every step of the way, from filing an appeal” through every decision that might follow. “It’s all in here.”

The Bar CLE Division describes the purpose of the book this way:

“These authors’ experiences at the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit include serving as federal law clerks and appearing as federal practitioners in both civil and criminal matters. Traxler in the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit as well as for The Honorables Cameron McGowan Currie and Henry S. Herlong, Jr. in the United States District Court for the District of
South Carolina. Beth is also the Past President of the Federal Bar Association.

She is highly active in the community, having served on the boards of Central Carolina Community Foundation, Heathwood Hall Episcopal School, East Point Academy, and having chaired the Board of both the Women’s Rights and Empowerment Network and New Morning Foundation. In 2019, she was named president of the South Carolina Chapter of the Federal Bar Association.
