BJU to honor first responders at Christmas Celebration

Bob Jones University will honor area first responders at the annual Christmas Celebration Friday, Dec. 6, from 4-8 p.m. on the BJU campus.

Upstate first responders and their families are encouraged to visit a specially designated tent at the Wade Hampton entrance to receive free hot chocolate and doughnuts served by Bob Jones Academy High School students.

“Our first responders keep our community safe by selflessly serving us all year long. Oftentimes their family’s sacrifice is overlooked,” said BJU President Steve Pettit. “We want to take time during the Christmas season to thank them for their service. We hope they will join us for all of the exciting events at Christmas Celebration.”

The Christmas Village, which includes cookie decorating, storytelling, lawn games, photo spots and shopping, opens at 4 p.m. and then closes at 6:30 p.m. for the Christmas Lighting and Carol Sing in front of Rodeheaver Auditorium in the center of campus. After the ceremony, booths and activities will reopen until 8 p.m. A variety of musical ensembles and choirs will perform throughout the evening. To see the full schedule of events, click here.

All of the evening’s events are open to the public. Parking is available in the parking garage behind Rodeheaver Auditorium and on campus streets. Some campus streets will be closed for the event.
