June 9, 2026ANDREWS, SC – Black River United Way (BRUW) is excited to announce the launch of Kinder “Garden,” an innovative Kindergarten Readiness Summer Camp designed specifically for rising kindergarteners slated to attend Andrews Elementary School this fall.
The camp will run from July 13–16, 2026, meeting daily from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm at Andrews Elementary School.
Kinder “Garden” is a specialized, hands-on program developed to give children a strong head start before the official school year begins. Through an intentional blend of interactive learning, structured play, and social exploration, the camp aims to help incoming students build confidence, master important daily school routines, make new friends, and ease into the physical school environment.
“We are essentially planting the seeds for a highly successful school year,” said Yolanda McCray, President and CEO of Black River United Way. “By introducing routines and building social comfort ahead of time, we help these little learners blossom into confident, capable kindergarteners who are ready to thrive from day one.”
