First of Five Themed Jersey Nights Planned For 2015 Season

Lexington County, SC – The Blowfish and Lake Murray Country Tourism have announced that the Blowfish players will be sporting a special “Lake Murray Blowfish” jersey on Lake Murray Night, Saturday May 30th at the new Lexington County Baseball Stadium.

The jersey is designed to promote the “Jewel of South Carolina”. The jersey features “Lake Murray Blowfish” across the chest and an aerial view of the lake and the Lake Murray Dam with the slogan “Jewel of South Carolina” on the back. On the left sleeve the Voice of the Blowfish, Z93.1 FM The Lake will be featured.

“We are so proud to see the Blowfish working with their community partners and specifically helping our regional tourism organization in the promotion of Lake Murray while offering a way to give back to Lake Murray,” Miriam Atria President/CEO of Capital City/Lake Murray Country Regional Tourism Board. “This jersey will bring awareness of the Jewel of South Carolina while assisting our organization in generating revenues for the annual July 4th Celebration on Lake Murray.”

On the day of the game fans will have the opportunity to bid on their favorite player’s jersey in a “Jersey Off Their Back” silent auction during the game vs. Martinsville. The highest bids will be announced in the post-game ceremonies, and the winners will meet their player on the field to receive the jersey in person. Monies raised from the auction benefit the Lake Murray 4th of July Independence fireworks show.

Blowfish owner Bill Shanahan said, “Our mission is to help promote all of the cities, towns and wonderful attractions of Lexington County for seasons to come. This is the first of five themed jersey nights planned. Each of these nights will help benefit a highlighted non-profit organization. Since it was recently discovered that Blowfish are indeed swimming in Lake Murray, we thought it proper that the first attraction showcased is the Jewel of South Carolina, Lake Murray.”
