Bluegrass & BBQ Benefit Set for June 14 to Support Laurens County Cancer Patients

May 20, 2025

The Laurens County Cancer Association (LCCA) is bringing music, food, and purpose together for one unforgettable evening — and you’re invited.

The Bluegrass & BBQ Benefit will be held on Friday, June 14 at The Lumberyard in Clinton, offering guests an opportunity to enjoy great entertainment while making a meaningful difference in the lives of local cancer patients. The evening will feature performances by three outstanding bluegrass acts — Swamp Rabbit Bluegrass Band (Greenville), Freddie Vanderford (Union), and Chewbacky (Charleston) — plus a delicious catered BBQ meal included with each ticket.

More than just a night of fun, this special event is a chance to support critical services for individuals and families navigating the challenges of cancer. All proceeds from the Bluegrass & BBQ Benefit will help LCCA provide fuel assistance, prescription reimbursements, and emotional support services for cancer patients across Laurens County.

“Over the years, generous community support has played a vital role in helping us fulfill our mission — providing critical services to cancer patients right here in our community,” said Anna Drew Miller, Director of LCCA. “We’re so excited to welcome everyone to this year’s benefit and show what can happen when a community comes together with compassion and purpose.”

LCCA invites past supporters, new friends, and community members alike to attend and bring others. Every ticket purchased helps ensure that no one in Laurens County faces cancer alone.
