Bluestein Attorneys celebrates its 20th anniversary in practice

July 1, 2020

Bluestein Attorneys is celebrating a milestone – 20 years of representation of injured and disabled South Carolinians.

“I can’t believe it’s been 20 years,” said Founding Partner Margaret Miles “Marti” Bluestein. “It’s been an honor to work with so many talented people along the way.”

She recalled that when she and former partner John Nichols started the firm in 2000, “We hoped to create a law firm where everyone was committed to making a difference in the lives of those who needed us to be their voice and looking back, I am proud to say that we’ve built what we intended to build.”

Throughout the years, Bluestein Attorneys has been recognized with many honors and recognitions, such as being named Solo and Small Firm Law Firm of the Year by the South Carolina Bar in 2015, and the firm’s lawyers have been recognized for their legal and community service by Super Lawyers, S.C. Lawyers Weekly, Columbia Business Monthly, U.S. News and World Report, Junior League of Columbia, the University of South Carolina School of Law, and the South Carolina Bar.

The firm represents clients in the areas of appellate advocacy, criminal defense, personal injury/civil litigation, Social Security, veteran’s disability, and workers’ compensation, among others.

In addition to Bluestein, partners in the firm today include Stacy Elizabeth Thompson, Allison Sullivan, and Clarke Newton. They are joined by attorneys Eugene Powell, Jr. and Tim Mercer.

As for the years to come, “Even though the world is constantly changing, we will continue to listen to our clients and work hard to improve the lives of injured and disabled South Carolinians as we lead them through the legal process,” said Bluestein.
