Blythewood High School Teacher recognized at local author showcase

February 29, 2016

Blythewood High School German teacher Dr. Arthur Turfa was one of 30 authors at Richland Library’s Local Author Showcase this past weekend. The event, part of the Deckle Edge S.C. Literary Festival, was held at the Columbia Art Museum.

“It was a superb weekend!” Turfa said.  “On Saturday I attended two panels and finally met Marjory Wentworth, S.C. Poet Laureate. Later she posted that she was eager to read the signed copy of “Places and Times” that I presented to her.

“On Sunday, I felt like a kid at Christmas at the Richland Library Local Author Showcase. I was one of 30 invited. As the afternoon progressed, I felt good because of all the hard work, good fortune, and friends and readers who helped me to this point,” Turfa added.
