BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by TD SYNNEX names Judson Conwell Interim Tournament Director
August 31, 2026The BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by TD SYNNEX announced that Judson Conwell has been named Interim Tournament Director, marking a natural next step as the tournament continues to build on its success and elevate the experience it brings to the Upstate each year.
Conwell steps into the role as longtime Tournament Director Michael McGovern concludes his tenure following his many years of dedicated service and leadership. During his time, McGovern helped guide the continued growth and evolution of the tournament, strengthened its presence throughout the Upstate and played an important role in advancing its longstanding charitable mission. The tournament and its Board of Directors are grateful for McGovern’s leadership, commitment and contributions over the years and wish him continued success in his future endeavors.
Conwell has been with the BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by TD SYNNEX for many years, serving in a variety of leadership roles and most recently as Director of Corporate Partnerships & Assistant Tournament Director, where he played a key role in strengthening sponsor relationships and supporting overall tournament operations. Outside of the tournament, Conwell also worked with longtime tournament partner Johnson Development, which strengthened his ties to the Spartanburg community, where a portion of the tournament is played.
Conwell steps into the role with the full support of the tournament’s Board of Directors, which expressed confidence in his leadership and ability to guide the tournament forward. With a strong understanding of the event, its partners and its impact across the Upstate, Conwell is well positioned to lead the organization through its next chapter while maintaining the momentum that has made this tournament one of the region’s premier annual events.
“Judson has the full confidence and support of our Board, and we are excited to have him step into this leadership role,” said Bob Stegner, President, South Carolina Charities, Inc. “We are grateful to Mike for his years of leadership and the important role he played in helping grow the tournament and its impact throughout the Upstate, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors. As we look ahead, Judson understands what makes this tournament so special to our partners, players, charities, volunteers, fans and the Upstate community, and we know he will be a tremendous leader as we continue finding new ways to strengthen the tournament and deliver an exceptional experience year after year.”
As Interim Tournament Director, Conwell will oversee the tournament’s operations and work closely with the Board, staff, partners and community stakeholders as planning continues for the next BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by TD SYNNEX. A key focus will remain the tournament’s charitable mission and continuing to grow its impact for nonprofit organizations throughout the Upstate. His appointment reflects the tournament’s commitment to building on its strong foundation while continuing to evolve the event for the future.
“I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to lead an event that means so much to the Upstate,” said Conwell. “The BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by TD SYNNEX has an incredible history, a strong network of partners and supporters, and a team that is passionate about making the tournament better every year. At the heart of everything we do is our charitable mission and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on organizations and families throughout our community. I’m excited to build on that foundation, continue growing our charitable impact and create an experience that our community can be proud of.”
With Conwell stepping into the interim role, the tournament remains focused firmly on the future and on continuing to strengthen its impact throughout the Upstate. From delivering a premier golf and entertainment experience to supporting local charitable organizations and showcasing the region on a national stage, the BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by TD SYNNEX looks forward to building on its momentum and continuing to raise the bar in the years ahead.
