Bob Jones Academy student receives ECENC Scholarship

May 3, 2016

GREENVILLE, SC – Dr. Huey Mills with Advance Carolina, a scholarship funding organization, recently made a check presentation to Joshua Ashmore, a second grade student at Bob Jones Academy. In addition to Mills, several legislators including Senator Mike Fair and Representatives Dan Hamilton, Wendy Nanney and Garry Smith participated in the presentation.

The Education Credit for Exceptional Needs Children (ECENC) program began in 2013 as a result of a proviso in the state budget. Hundreds of students across South Carolina have received tuition assistance through the ECENC’s parental credits and donor funded scholarships.

During the presentation, Mills, along with Access Opportunity President Neil Mellen, thanked the members of the state legislature for their support over the years in providing school choice to exceptional needs children.
