October 7, 2015

CHAPIN, SC  – The Town of Chapin has received notification from the City of Columbia that the city has lifted the Boil Water Advisory that was issued for Chapin area water customers as a result of heavy flooding in the Midlands this past weekend.

Chapin Utility water customers as well as Chapin area customers in the Richland County areas of Ballentine and White Rock are free to stop boiling tap water for human consumption effective immediately.

“We are grateful to our City of Columbia partners for their efforts to resume normal operations given the record-breaking flooding that has occurred across the region, and we look to offer support of our resources to help them get other areas back in service,” said Chapin Mayor Skip Wilson. “This is a humbling experience watching the devastation of people losing their homes, and we want to do our part to assist in the region’s rebuilding efforts.”
