Bon Secours expands access to care with new class of residents

July 6, 2026

As demand for healthcare continues to grow across the Upstate, Bon Secours St. Francis is expanding access for patients with the arrival of 12 new internal medicine resident physicians, now accepting appointments beginning July 6, 2026.

In some cases, establishing care with a primary care provider can mean long wait times. However, the addition of these new physicians helps address that gap – offering increased appointment availability and an opportunity for patients to build long-term relationships with a trusted care team.

“These physicians represent the future of healthcare in our community,” said Dr. Katherine Lumpkin, Associate Program Director for the Bon Secours St. Francis Internal Medicine Residency Program. “At the same time, they are supported every day by experienced faculty and the full strength of Bon Secours, ensuring patients receive high-quality, compassionate care from day one.”

The resident physicians are part of the system’s three-year, ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine Residency Program, based at the Bon Secours St. Francis Downtown campus. Designed to prioritize both clinical excellence and patient-centered care, the program combines hands-on experience with close mentorship from seasoned providers.

Patients will be seen at the Bon Secours St. Francis Internal Medicine Residency Practice, located at 317 St. Francis Dr., Suite 210 in Greenville. The clinic serves as both a training site for physicians and a key access point for the community, helping connect patients to preventive care, chronic disease management, and specialty services across the Bon Secours network.

This expansion reflects Bon Secours’s broader commitment to improving access across the continuum of care – from urgent and same-day services to long-term primary and specialty care – ensuring patients can get the right care at the right time.

Appointments with the new resident physicians are now being scheduled for July. Community members interested in establishing care are encouraged to call 864-767-6279 or visit bonsecours.com to learn more.
