Bon Secours names Chief Clinical Officer in Greenville

Bon Secours St. Francis Health System welcomed aboard its new Chief Clinical Officer, Dr. Bruce Swords, today.
He is new to the Greenville area and brings with him a wealth of experience in health care. Prior to joining Bon Secours, he served at Cone Health in Greensboro, North Carolina, an organization that includes five acute care hospitals, a behavioral health hospital, and a freestanding emergency department. During his 8 years with the organization, he served as chief medical officer and then chief physician executive, overseeing strategic planning, process improvement, and physician engagement.

Previously, Dr. Swords also served as a physician for LeBauer Health Care, part of the Cone Health Medical Group, from 1996 to 2014. He holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of California as well as a doctorate in both philosophy and medicine which he obtained at the University of Alabama.
