Bon Secours Wellness Arena celebrates 25 years, announces special series of anniversary events featuring Dave Matthews Band and more
September 14, 2023Bon Secours Wellness Arena announced a special lineup of events to commemorate the award-winning entertainment venue’s 25th anniversary and celebrate its staff, event workers, performers, fans, touring crews, and the local community that has supported The Well throughout its many years of entertaining the upstate. Events part of the anniversary lineup include an evening with Dave Matthews Band on November 8 and two nights of Zach Bryan May 5-6, 2024. The arena’s year-long anniversary celebration kicked off September 3 with the return of Spirit Fest, the venue’s longest running event series, and will continue with additional special events and concerts, including the Greenville Swamp Rabbits season opener on October 21.

The Well’s silver anniversary celebration promises to be a remarkable year encompassing an array of special events to honor all who have contributed to the great success of Bon Secours Wellness Arena while entertaining the upstate. The Greenville Swamp Rabbits season opener on October 21 will include nostalgic throwbacks to the Greenville Grrrowl, and fans can look forward to the return of former players, vintage jerseys and more.
The November 8 Dave Matthews Band concert will feature one of the greatest acts of several decades and mark the renowned American rock band’s return to Upstate South Carolina since they last performed at The Well in 2001. Two nights of Zach Bryan, country music’s next big thing, will delight fans in May 2024.
“The Well,” a beloved nickname for Bon Secours Wellness Arena, has been an iconic fixture of Greenville’s skyline for decades. Since its opening in 1998, the arena has played host to more than 12 million enthusiastic fans and nearly 3,000 commercial and community events showcasing some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry including Taylor Swift, Prince, Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, Elton John, Pearl Jam, Morgan Wallen, Shania Twain, The 1975 and The Eagles, among many others. The venue has also hosted popular shows such as Disney on Ice, Monster Jam, Trans-Siberian Orchestra and WWE. On average, The Well welcomes approximately 500,000 visitors each year, creating more than 500 full-time jobs and injecting over $70 million into the Greenville metro area annually.
Bon Secours Wellness Arena proudly remembers record-breaking nights and unforgettable performances such as March 22, 2013 when 15,300 ecstatic fans flooded the arena for a George Strait concert and when Janet Jackson took the stage at the then BI-LO Center on September 3, 1998. Jackson’s performance marked the debut of the venue and ushered in a new era of live entertainment in Greenville following The Auditorium closing its doors in 1997.
Additional shows and events the arena hosted in its opening year included Reba McEntire with Brooks & Dunn, Garth Brooks, Eric Church, Lynard Skynyrd, Phish, Alan Jackson, Kings of Comedy Featuring Steve Harvey, Bernie Mac & Cedric The Entertainer, Neil Diamond, Greenville Grrrowl hockey, Speedway On Ice, Wizard of Oz on Ice, Sesame Street’s Eight Nights of Elmo’s Coloring Book, World Championship Wrestling Monday Nitro, Furman Paladins vs. Clemson Tigers Men’s Basketball, and Gospel Songfest now known as Spirit Fest. Located in Greenville, SC, Bon Secours Wellness Arena is a 15,000-seat sports and entertainment arena that hosts live events including family shows, sporting events, concerts, minor league hockey, seminars and conventions.
