Brad and Jennifer Moranz Announce the Premiere of Charleston’s Newest Musical Spectacular: The Charleston Variety Show

June 30, 2014

CHARLESTON, SC – Broadway performers Brad and Jennifer Moranz, producers of the long-running Charleston Christmas Special, have worked their musical magic once again as they present an entirely new variety show sure to delight Charleston audiences this summer that features talented performers from Charleston and beyond.

Running July 18-20 at the Charleston Music Hall, The CharlestonVariety Show includes 25 brand new songs – none of which has appeared in any of the Moranz’ other shows. The performance includes songs from Broadway’s “Hairspray” and “Pippin” along with popular rock ‘n roll, country, pop and Motown hits plus a medley of songs by The Beatles.

Appropriate for even the youngest music lovers, the show features a special tribute to the music of Disney with songs from “Frozen,” “Hercules” and “Aladdin.”

Having been producing shows in Charleston since 1995, it was no small feat for Brad and Jennifer Moranz to create a show with so many brand new songs. Each December, some 10,000 people fill the Charleston Music Hall for the much-loved Charleston Christmas Special.

“We’ve created what we hope will become Charleston’s next family tradition – a musical variety show featuring the most talented performers from not only the Lowcountry but from all over the country,” Brad Moranz said.

About half of the show’s singers, dancers and musicians hail from the Charleston area and the other half are from all over the United States. “And when they get together, they truly make beautiful music together,” Moranz added.

The Charleston Variety Show performances are 7 p.m. July 18; 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. July 19; and 3 p.m. July 20 at the Charleston Music Hall. Tickets are $34 for adults; $31 for seniors and military; $19 for students; $16 for children 12 and under. Group rates are available; call 843-416-8453.
