Bridges to be repaired with yes vote this November

GREENVILLE, SC – Bridges make up a key portion of a massive infrastructure project that will be completed if voters pass a referendum this November.
The Citizens for a Better Greenville is highlighting key projects on the November referendum to educate residents on what the one-penny sales taxes will be spent on. There are 23 bridges listed on the project list, which was created by a special citizens committee last winter with input from the various cities and communities in the county.
“The people have the opportunity to change the future of Greenville this November,” said Bob Knight, chairman of Citizens for a Better Greenville.
Those are 40 projects that will be completed in the next eight years if voters pass the referendum this November, said Bob Knight, chairman of Citizens for a Better Greenville, an ad hoc group of area residents who support better roads.
Key locations for the bridge projects include:
• Replacing the Reedy View Drive bridge in the City of Greenville.
• Replacing the bridge along Miller Road over Gilder Creek in the City of Mauldin.
• The rehabbing of the McDaniel Avenue bridge near McBee Avenue in the City of Greenville.
• Replacing the Hillpine Drive Bridge in the City of Simpsonville.
• Putting a new bridge at along Keeler Bridge Road over the North Saluda River.
