Brittlebank upgrades to begin March 9

The Brittlebank Park Pier will be closed from March 9 to March 20 for the first phase of work to replace the pier’s framing and decking.
As part of the work, the pier will be upgraded to a recycled plastic deck board, which will better withstand the natural elements. City of Charleston Parks Department crews will make the repairs.
Deputy Director of Parks Wes Chappell said, “By completing the work in phases, city crews will be better able to assess production and make any necessary adjustments. Our hope is to have the pier re-opened to the public as soon as possible.”
