Broadway Actress, Chryssie Whitehead, is Guest Artist at the Tri District Arts Consortium

COLUMBIA, SC – Star of stage, screen and TV, Chryssie Whitehead, a graduate of Richland Northeast High School, has returned to her alma mater this week to serve as a guest artist for theatre and dance in the Tri-District Arts Consortium (Tri-DAC).  Chryssie is a former Tri-DAC student herself. She began her professional career as a Rockette, but soon made her acting debut on Broadway as Kristine in the 2006 revival of A Chorus Line. She was also featured in Every Little Step, a documentary of the A Chorus Line Broadway revival casting process.

Chryssie’s most recent work includes, Miss CoCo Blankship in the soon-to-be-released movie, Lucky Stiff, with Jason Alexander, the recurring role as Dana Nelson in the TV series, Private Practice, and Kathy in Company with Neil Patrick Harris at Lincoln Center.  You may have also seen her in episodes of a variety of TV series, including Switched at Birth, Man Up, Happy Endings, Melissa & Joey, Grey’s Anatomy, The Mentalist, and Castle.  She also portrayed Rachel Phipps in the TV Movie, Revenge of the Bridesmaids.

Tri-DAC was founded by Richland District Two, Lexington District One and School District Five of Lexington and Richland Counties and is celebrating its 29th year. The three-week program serves talented and gifted middle school students in creative writing, dance, music, theatre and visual art. Tri-DAC is hosted by the Palmetto Center for the Arts at Richland Northeast High School, located at 7500 Brookfield Road, Columbia, and runs through July 19.
