Burdette Appointed CEO for Greer State Bank and Greer Bancshares, Incorporated

GREER, SC – February 5, 2013 –  Greer Bancshares, Incorporated, the bank holding company for Greer State Bank, announces that George W. Burdette has been named CEO of Greer State Bank and the holding company.  Burdette replaces Dennis Hennett who retired after serving as CEO of the bank.  Hennett will remain a director for Greer Bancshares, Incorporated, and Greer State Bank.  Burdette joined Greer State Bank earlier in 2012 and was named President in November of 2012.

Burdette has a banking background spanning nearly 30 years having served as Regional Manager, Senior Vice President, and Greenville City Executive for BB&T for the Upstate region.  Burdette was also Vice President for Community Bank in Greenville, and served as Assistant Vice President for C&S Bank in the Columbia market.  His banking career includes organization and leadership of regional Business Banking and Private Banking teams.
