Burnette Shutt & McDaniel earns top-tier honors in Best Law Firms

Burnette Shutt & McDaniel again has earned Tier 1 honors in two employment law practice areas in the just-released 2020 edition of “Best Law Firms in America.”

The top-level rankings are in Employment Law – Individuals and in Litigation – Labor & Employment. This marks the third consecutive year Burnette Shutt & McDaniel has earned top rankings in those practice areas.

Burnette Shutt & McDaniel earned additional recognition for the Columbia area in six practice areas: Civil Rights Law, Employee Benefit (ERISA) Law, Employment Law – Management, Litigation-ERISA, Commercial Litigation and Mediation.

To qualify for inclusion in “Best Law Firms,” an attorney from the firm must earn honors in the same year’s edition of the peer-reviewed “Best Lawyers in America.” Burnette Shutt & McDaniel qualified for “Best Law Firms” when partners M. Malissa Burnett, Nekki Shutt and Janet Rhodes earned a total of 12 awards in the 2020 edition of “Best Lawyers.”

The list of honors included Lawyer of the Year awards for the Columbia area for Burnette in Employment Law – Individuals and for Shutt in Litigation – ERISA.

“Best Law Firms” is a collaboration of “Best Lawyers in America” and “U.S. News & World Report.”
