Burns gives back to celebrate 100 years of business

To honor their family’s legacy of giving back to the community for 100 years, Burns Chevrolet will kick off their “100 Days of Giving” on June 1, 2023. A portion of all vehicle sales between June 1 and September 9 will be donated to Meals on Wheels of Cherokee County to further their mission to serve seniors in the community.
In 1923, the first Burns dealership was opened by C.W. Burns in Pageland, South Carolina. 100 years later, the family business spans four generations and six new and used dealerships from Spartanburg to Lugoff.

To commemorate the family’s 100 year business anniversary, Burns Chevrolet of Gaffney is proud to donate a portion of all new and used vehicle sales to Meals on Wheels of Cherokee County during their “100 Days of Giving” event.
Burns Chevrolet of Gaffney, located at exit 92 on I-85, is operated by the great-grandson of C.W. Burns, Charlie Burns. A graduate of Gaffney High School and the University of South Carolina, Charlie returned to the Upstate in 2017 to follow in the footsteps of the generations before him to lead the Chevrolet dealership.
“It is always our hope to give back to and invest in the community that supports our family business every day,” said Charlie. “Meals on Wheels provides much-need assistance to the least of these, and we are honored to support their work here in Cherokee County. We hope this event will be the exclamation point on our first 100 years in business”
In addition to purchasing a vehicle from June 1 to September 9, “Love Local” t-shirts are available for purchase for $20 at the dealership and online. Proceeds will also be donated to Meals on Wheels of Cherokee County.
The donation to Meals on Wheels will be presented at Burns Chevrolet of Gaffney’s 100 Year Anniversary Celebration on September 9, 2023. Hosted at the dealership at 101 Peachoid Road in Gaffney, the free family-friendly event will feature local food trucks, inflatables for children, and free Kona Ice.
