Burroughs & Chapin Company, Inc. breaks ground on new shopping center at intersection of highways 544 And 17 bypass

Officials with Burroughs & Chapin Company, Inc., have announced that they have broken ground on a 10,000 square foot shopping center adjacent to the South Strand Commons shopping center in Surfside Beach, S.C. The new shopping center will be located at the intersection of Highways 17 Bypass and 544. Upon completion of its construction, it will be home to three merchants that are new to the Myrtle Beach market. The new tenants, Panera Bread, EyeMart Express and MOD Pizza are expected to open in the fall of 2016.

Known for its bakery products and simply great sandwiches and salads, the Panera Bread store will be the second of its locations planned for the Grand Strand. The company has over 1,900 bakery-cafes in the U.S. and Canada and several in South Carolina, primarily in the Upstate and Midlands.
EyeMart Express has 154 locations in 35 states. The Surfside location will be its first along the South Carolina coast. Ranked number seven among the nation’s largest optical retailers, the company offers a full range of optical and eye care services, and is known for its attractive eyewear, remarkable value and affordability.
Seattle-based MOD Pizza will be opening one of its three new Grand Strand stores at the Surfside location. Based on the principle of one price for however a customer builds his or her pizza, MOD Pizza is a unique and popular family-friendly restaurant concept.
