Business Black Box announces Charleston expansion

July 7, 2015

GREENVILLE, SC – Business Black Box is starting a Charleston version of its popular magazine that is known for ground-breaking photography and stories, nationally recognized partnerships and use of augmented reality.

The announcement came Tuesday at the magazine’s new offices in downtown Greenville in the Ivey Building, 200 North Main Street. Publisher Jordana Megonigal said the Charleston magazine will offer a similar format and style as the Greenville has become known for during the past seven years.

“Business Black Box is unique because of our approach to the Upstate business community—from our partnership model to how we craft our content, everything is intentional and geared toward growing the business economy,” Megonigal said.

The Charleston edition is set to launch in early 2016, she said. In addition, Business Black Box plans to offer many of its popular events forums in the Charleston market including the Leaders Series, Business Black Awards and other signature events.

Michael Bolick, CEO of Selah Genomics and a member of the Business Black Box Advisory Council, said the Charleston expansion should be well received.

“This is about more than just a magazine coming to Charleston,” Bolick said. “This is about offering a different and unique view on the business community. I am positive that Charleston political and business leaders will enjoy Business Black Box.”

Business Black Box also is known for its partnership model, which was recognized nationally in 2013 by a number of leaders within the magazine industry.

“We can’t wait to start partnering with the Charleston community and telling the great stories of the people there,” Megonigal said.
