Call for Startups: Deadline March 25 for 36|86 “Southern Series” event at ConvergeSE on April 15, $36K Prize

March 23, 2015

COLUMBIA, SC – ConvergeSE, Columbia, S.C.’s next-generation web design and development conference, is partnering with Launch Tennessee (LaunchTN) to present a 36|86 Southern Series startup event during ConvergeSE on Wednesday, April 15, 2015, from 6:00 to 11:00 p.m. at Music Farm. Tickets are $10 and available here: http://bit.ly/1HtIcob.

“One of the coolest new aspects of this year’s event is that we’re bringing new, never-before-seen things to the Midlands, like the 36|86 startup party, produced by the same company that produces Bonnaroo,” says ConvergeSE founder Gene Crawford. “It’s an afternoon of panels and speakers, and then ten startups will pitch their business idea to investors, like the show Shark Tank.”

The startup party – also featuring live music, food and drinks – will be free to ConvergeSE ticket-holders and open to the public for $10 per ticket, available for purchase online, allowing forward-thinking locals and visitors to mix in signature ConvergeSE style.

The 36|86 Southern Series celebrates regional startups and identifies the very best entrepreneurs from key cities in the Southeast. The winners from Columbia’s event will advance to LaunchTN’s inaugural 36|86 conference in June 2015, expenses paid, joining winners from Atlanta, Ga. and Arlington, Va. for the opportunity to win cash prizes, including the winning prize of $36,000.

“We are seeking the top southeastern entrepreneurs, pure and simple,” says LaunchTN CEO Charlie Brock. “The Southern Series Columbia winners coming to 36|86 will experience the center of southern entrepreneurship and culture connecting the doers, makers, innovators and investors from across the country.”

The deadline to apply for the Columbia event is Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at midnight. Interested entrepreneurs can learn more and apply online at http://thirtysixeightysix.com/the-southern-series.

In its seventh year, ConvergeSE will bring together attendees from across the globe for keynote talks by big-name speakers from Adobe, Paypal, RetailMeNot, The Iron Yard and cult film “Sharknado” from Wednesday to Saturday, April 15-18, 2015 in the historic downtown Congaree Vista district of Columbia, S.C.

Selling out each year, ConvergeSE has become known as one of the best web events in the country thanks to its founders’ knack for throwing a heck of a weekend for speakers and attendees. The conference will be broken out into different “tracks” that will focus on design/UX (user experience), front-end, development, and business/marketing.

Public tickets to the 36|86 Southern Series party are $10 and can be purchased here: http://bit.ly/1HtIcob.
