Calling All Cyclists – Registration Now Open for Flight of the Dove 18th Annual Event

July 12, 2023

Cyclists have been coming out to ride and support VIA Health Partners (founded as Hospice of Laurens County) since 2006 in the Flight of the Dove ride.

The 18th annual event is their biggest fundraiser, and has grown in popularity, drawing riders from all over South Carolina and surrounding states.  Registration in recent years has been around 300 riders and they are expecting the same or more this year.

Flight of the Dove 2023 is scheduled for Saturday, August 5.

“We are excited to host our 18th Flight of the Dove event,” said Nancy Cole, Director of Special Events. “This is our biggest fundraiser and proceeds from the event are used to help ensure that all area residents get the proper care regardless of their medial complexity or ability to pay.”

Flight of the Dove features a metric century (62 miles), a 30-mile ride, and a 14-mile leisure ride. A 50-mile variation of the metric century is also available. All rides are SAG’ed and have frequent, well-well stocked rest stops. Lunch is provided for all participants.

T-shirts are guaranteed to riders who register prior to July 23. All rides begin and end Presbyterian College Bailey Memorial Stadium. Pre-registration is $40 and same day registration is $45. Helmets are required for all riders and children under the age of 15 must ride with an adult.
