November 14, 2016

COLUMBIA, SC – Callison Tighe & Robinson’s Tax & Estate Planning, Probate & Trusts practice area is growing with the addition of two new partners, Wm. Bert Brannon and W. Alex Weatherly Jr.

Brannon is new to the firm, joining it as a partner. Weatherly, who has been an “of counsel” attorney with Callison Tighe for two years, became a partner effective Nov. 1.

They join David Ewing in an Estate Planning department poised to assist clients with a range of needs, from business formation to trust creation and administration to probate administration.

Brannon, a South Carolina Supreme Court certified specialist in Estate Planning and Probate Law, has practiced in Columbia for 25 years. He’s past chairman of the Columbia Tax Study Group and past president of the Columbia Estate Planning Council as well as an adjunct professor at the University of South Carolina School of Law.

In addition to a juris doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law, he also holds a master of law in taxation from the New York University School of Law.

A former certified public accountant, Weatherly has 30 years’ experience helping business and individuals create strategies for protecting their financial resources. He assists with estate planning and implementation as well as will and probate issues, including high-value estates.

A graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law, Weatherly earned a bachelor’s at The Citadel in business, with an emphasis on finance and accounting.

Both Brannon and Weatherly also advise clients on business creation and succession planning, a key part of estate planning for small business owners.
