Callison Tighe listed in new edition of Best Law Firms

COLUMBIA, SC – November 1, 2012 – Callison Tighe & Robinson is being recognized as a top firm for employment and real estate law, as well as labor and employment law litigation, in the latest edition of a national publication.
The ratings are a part of Best Law Firms. The publication is a joint venture of U.S. News & World Report and The Best Lawyers in America, one of the premier guides to the nation’s attorneys. It’s the third consecutive year the firm has been recognized in employment law, the first for real estate and litigation.
The ratings reflect the extensive experience and impeccable professional credentials of our attorneys on both teams, Callison Tighe managing member Michael W. Tighe said. It’s gratifying to see their work recognized by their peers in the legal profession.
In order to be eligible for a ranking, a firm had to have at least one attorney rated highly in Best Lawyers. Four Callison Tighe members – Michael W. Tighe, Ralph Robinson, Nekki Shutt and M. Malissa Burnette – are included in the 2013 edition.
From there, firms were evaluated based on extensive surveys completed by more than 1,800 law firms, more than 15,000 clients and close to 9,000 lawyers. Respondents were asked to rate firms in areas such as responsiveness, understanding a business’s needs, cost-effectiveness, civility and whether they would refer a client to the firm. Lawyers were asked whether they considered a firm a worthy competitor.
Additionally, evaluators collected data about pro-bono commitment and diversity at the firm. The surveys and the data were combined into an overall score.
