Callison Tighe’s Pavlicek appointed to Columbia World Affairs Council Board

July 13, 2015

COLUMBIA, SC – Callison Tighe attorney Jax Pavlicek has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Columbia World Affairs Council.

Founded in 1993, the non-partisan, non-profit council acts as a bridge between the Midlands and international communities. The organization conducts seminars on crucial topics and arranges luncheons and dinners with international business leaders and foreign diplomats.

The council also works with the Sister Cities of Columbia, South Carolina program that helps build relationships and develop cross-cultural understanding among communities across the globe. Columbia currently has sister cities in Romania, Germany, Bulgaria, China, Russia and Ghana.

Pavlicek is excited to be involved with the council. “The business relationships the council helps develop strengthen our state’s role in the global economy, bringing jobs to South Carolina,” she said.

Pavlicek came to Callison Tighe in 2014 after almost two years as a staff attorney for the South Carolina Court of Appeals. Her practice focuses on litigation and appellate work.
