Candidates Debate- Kirkman Finlay and Joe McCulloch

South Carolina Sierra Club to host debate on conservation and the environment between SC House District 75 candidates Kirkman Finlay and Joe McCulloch. 

 

The John Bachman Group of the South Carolina Sierra Club, which represents the Midlands area of the state, is pleased to announce that it will be hosting a debate between SC House District 75 candidates Kirkman Finlay (incumbent) and Joe McCulloch (challenger) on local, state and national conservation and environmental issues and their impacts on South Carolina.

A meet and greet will begin at 6:30pm, followed by the debate at 7pm on Thursday, October 16th at the Lourie Center,  1650 Park Circle, Columbia, SC 29201. The Lourie Center is located off Pickens Street in a large parking lot behind Maxcy Gregg Park.

This event is free and open to the public.

The debate will be moderated by WIS-TV Senior Reporter Jack Kuenzie. Candidates will be provided a list of the topic areas from which questions will be asked in advance of the debate.

Candidates will be allowed brief introductions about their platforms, and the debate will follow with a series of timed question-and-answer led by the moderator.

This debate is an important one to the SC Sierra Club as incumbent Kirkman Finlay and challenger Joe McCulloch have noted their support for conservation initiatives.  The SC Sierra Club has not endorsed a candidate in the race.
