Capitol Theatre to show ‘Tombstone’ free of charge Friday

The City of Laurens will host a free showing of the 1993 Western “Tombstone” at the Capitol Theatre on Friday, Sept. 11.
Doors open at 6 p.m., and the movie begins at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free, and concessions will be available for purchase.
Seating is limited and available on a first come, first served basis, so organizers encourage moviegoers to arrive early.
“Tombstone” follows Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday through one of the most legendary chapters of the American frontier, including the events surrounding the gunfight at the O.K. Corral. The film stars Kurt Russell and Val Kilmer and is rated R.
The screening is part of the city’s ongoing effort to bring programming back to the historic downtown theater, which has hosted free movie nights, live performances and community events in recent years.
