Capstone Church completes master plan

July 19, 2016

Capstone started meeting in part of a former strip mall along I-385 in 2009. The church has since partnered with a number of Christian and secular organizations to meet the needs of the Fountain Inn community, including the FIKE Center, a 501c3 community after-school and mentoring program created by Capstone. In 2014, Capstone merged with Fairview Street Baptist Church and now has about 250 people worshipping together with the combined goal of making an impact on the city of Fountain Inn.

Good City’s DayONE is a concentrated design effort that identifies a ministry’s vision and goals, translating them into a master plan for development in just one or two days. The master plan for Capstone envisions a new multipurpose building capable of housing expanded community ministry, as well as space for a growing children’s ministry.

“Our vision for expansion wasn’t about adding more space for our congregation, but asking what our community needed and how we could build a space to meet those needs,” said Vision and Teaching Pastor Walt Tanner. “Good City Architects understood our desire to not just create a church building, but to truly design a community center that can bless our city as we do our part as a gospel-centered church to help make it an even better place.”
