Care Coordination Institute hires two new executives

GREENVILLE, SC – The Care Coordination Institute (CCI), a Greenville-based not-for-profit organization working to transform the health of communities, has added two new members to its team. John Supra will serve as executive director of operations and Nancy Markle will serve as vice president of clinical operations.

As executive director of operations, Supra will be responsible for overseeing the organization’s day-to-day operations and leading its product management and business development efforts. Using his background in process improvement and software development, Supra will drive innovations that help healthcare systems focus on population health and develop their health informatics capacity. As vice president of clinical operations, Markle will be responsible for strategically leading and developing resources and staff within CCI. Using her clinical and management experience, Markle will provide strategies to identify clinical best practices and process improvements and help develop innovative education and training programs aimed at improving care.

Screen Shot 2015-04-03 at 6.13.19 PMPrior to his role at CCI, Supra (pictured, left) served as deputy director for operations and information management and as chief information officer at South Carolina’s Department of Health and Human Services. He has been active in efforts to transform Medicaid policies and has participated in national forums focused on health policy, health system transformation, payment reform efforts, uses of information technology in population health and organizational effectiveness. Supra has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Prior to her role at CCI, Markle served as a vice president with The Camden Group, one of the nation’s leading healthcare business and advisory firms. In her more than 25 years of clinical and management experience in health care, Markle has assisted in preparing organizations for National Committee for Quality Assurance Health Plan Accreditation and Patient-Centered Medical Home Recognition, and she has worked to develop Accountable Care Organizations, clinical integration networks, patient engagement strategies and care models to help healthcare organizations move toward value-based care. Markle has a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Valparaiso University.
