Carlos Phillips to serve as Chair-Elect of Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives

The Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) announced the appointment of the new board officers with Carlos Phillips, Greenville Chamber President/CEO, tapped to serve as Chair Elect. Carlos will serve as Chair Elect throughout the next year and will assume the role of Chair in July of 2023.

ACCE is the professional society supporting the women and men who lead local, regional, statewide and international chambers of commerce and related business and economic development organizations. Its membership includes more than 1,600 business/civic organizations worldwide, representing more than 9,000 professionals. The association provides members with information resources, thought leadership, education programs, original research, benchmarking, retirement security, and access to a network of peers.

“It is an honor to serve with chamber leaders from across the United States and Canada,” said Phillips. He adds, “I look forward to working with fellow Board members as we implement innovative solutions utilizing ACCE’s robust set of resources to uplift our industry and communities.”

Chattanooga Area Chamber’s Christy Gillenwater was announced as Board Chair and will work closely with Phillips and fellow Board members in the coming year to provide chamber leaders with the strategies and tools they need to thrive. During the year ahead, the association will develop new research and thought leadership on the trends impacting the future of the chamber industry. It will also continue to improve all aspects of the membership experience and explore new community impact priorities.
