Carlos Richardson and Michael Caraballo join Garvin Design Group

June 20, 2023

Columbia architecture, interiors, and planning firm Garvin Design Group recently welcomed two new teammates. Carlos Richardson enters the firm for the first time this summer as an architectural intern, and Michael Caraballo returns for his second summer as a full-time hire at Garvin Design Group.

Originally from Lexington, Carlos graduated from White Knoll High School in 2021 and is entering his junior year at Clemson University’s School of Architecture. During his time at Clemson thus far, Richardson is a member of the student branch of the National Organization of Minority Architects (cNOMAS). Carlos has prior experience in the construction world working for Hood Construction. He looks forward to better understanding the design phase of a project and the relationship between design and construction in his time with Garvin Design Group. Carlos is eager to build experience in Revit and enhance his general computer skills this summer.

Another Lexington native, Michael Caraballo returns to Garvin Design Group for a second summer, this time as a full-time hire. Michael earned his Associate degree in Architecture from Midlands Technical College and just completed his Masters in Architecture from Clemson University School of Architecture. Michael is interested in and enjoys art design and the problem-solving aspect of architecture.

“We are so fortunate to welcome Michael back as a full-time team member. And it’s great to have Carlos join us for the summer, he will be a wonderful addition,” said Scott Garvin, Garvin Design Group President. “We are thrilled to have such a diverse group of interns this summer.”
