Carolina Nephrology hires new nephrologist, Dr. Carlos Zayas

Carolina Nephrology, a top provider for patient kidney care, is proud to welcome Dr. Carlos Zayas to their team.
Prior to joining Carolina Nephrology, he worked as a nephrologist at the Medical University of South Carolina and was Medical Director of the three Georgia Renal Adult Programs at Emory University, Piedmont Healthcare, and Augusta University Medical College of Georgia. Zayas completed his Medicine Doctorate Degree at the University of Puerto Rico School in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He then completed a Fellowship in Renal Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine, Division of Nephrology in Atlanta, GA. Dr. Zayas is Board Certified Diplomat in Nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Zayas serves as a fellow of various scientific and professional societies including American Society of Transplantation, American Society of Nephrology, and American College of Physicians.
“I am excited to join Carolina Nephrology and work alongside their team of reliable and comprehensive kidney care providers as a nephrologist,” said Zayas. “I love to care for post-transplant recipients, renal disease associates with liver disease, sickle cell anemia, recurrent disease after transplant and management of nephro-oncology cases… Helping my patients regain their health and normality after their struggles with renal disease is what drives me on a day-to-day basis.”
