Carolina Nephrology presents 2017 Upstate Kidney Walk

March 1, 2017

Carolina Nephrology, a top provider for patient kidney care in Greenville, South Carolina is proud to be the presenting sponsor for the National Kidney Foundation’s Upstate Kidney Walk.

The walk will be held on Saturday, April 2nd at Fluor Field in downtown Greenville, S.C. Check-in begins at 1:00 p.m.and the walk begins at 3:00 p.m. The walk is open to all ages and is a great weekend activity for the family.  It is free to participate, however participants are encouraged to fundraise. To register please visit donate.kidney.org.

Funds generated from the walk will be used to provide resources to administer free health screenings, host educational sessions, and support kidney research.  Last year Carolina Nephrology’s team raised over $3,000 and the walk generated approximately $60,000 to help fight kidney disease.

As a disease that shows few warning signs until almost all kidney function has deteriorated, education is a crucial aspect for its prevention.  The walk encourages individuals in the Upstate with high blood pressure, diabetes, or a family history of these conditions to participate in regular screenings while generating support for kidney patients and other groups affected by the disease.
