Cassandra Jennings appointed interim principal of Cainhoy Elementary/Middle School

Cassandra Jennings has been appointed to serve as the interim principal of Cainhoy Elementary/Middle School in Cainhoy, South Carolina. Berkeley County School District (BCSD) announced the appointment this afternoon, Friday, December 18. Jennings will begin her new assignment in January 2016, following current Cainhoy Principal, Anthony Dixon’s move to serve as the principal of Philip Simmons Middle School scheduled to open in August 2016.

Jennings began her career in administration as an assistant principal at Stratford High School. She served as a principal at Westview Middle and Cane Bay High, and at Ridgeland High in Jasper County. Additionally, Jennings served as a principal specialist at Brentwood Middle in Charleston County and an Academic Learning Specialist at Sedgefield Middle in Berkeley County.

“I am looking forward to working collaboratively with the Cainhoy faculty, staff and community,” said Cassandra Jennings. “With great pleasure, I will work diligently to help students achieve academic goals.  I am confident that I will be able to make a positive contribution to the Cainhoy team.”

Jennings has been Berkeley County School District’s Teacher of the Year and an Academic Gold Recipient while at Ridgeland High School. During her time as principal at Westview Middle, the school was a recipient of the Closing the Achievement Gap Award and achieved Adequate Yearly Progress honors.
