Cayce’s newest Councilman awarded McLaughlin Scholarship

February 23, 2022

Cayce City Councilman, Hunter Sox, has been awarded the McLaughlin Scholarship to attend the Congress of New Urbanism (CNU) in Oklahoma City in March.

The McLaughlin Scholarship Fund is named for Rich McLaughlin, a Charter member of CNU who was a pioneer in introducing and practicing New Urbanism in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area.

Each year, a scholarship is awarded to an elected or appointed official to attend the annual Congress so that they can return to their hometown as an informed and energized advocate for New Urbanism.

“I am honored to have received the McLaughlin Scholarship,” stated Councilman Sox. “I look forward to using this opportunity to share why the City of Cayce is a great place to live, work, and enjoy our recreational and outdoor opportunities!”
