Andrea Gadsden to lead districtwide initiatives as CCSD Director of Special Projects

Charleston County School District (CCSD) announced that Andrea Gadsden has been named Director of Special Projects.

Ms. Gadsden brings nearly two decades of experience in Charleston County School District, having served as a classroom teacher, assistant principal, and, most recently, as principal of Simmons-Pinckney Middle School. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to operational excellence, strategic planning, and creating safe, supportive learning environments for students and staff.

In her new role, Ms. Gadsden will lead districtwide project efforts, supporting staff and schools, and long-term planning for school buildings and campuses across CCSD. Her experience in school leadership and project management uniquely positions her to ensure that learning environments across the district continue to support high-quality instruction and student success.

Ms. Gadsden has served as principal of Simmons-Pinckney Middle School, where she led with a focus on relationships, student success, and continuous improvement. Her leadership has helped foster a strong school culture rooted in collaboration, high expectations, and care for every student.
